VBS (Vacation Bible School) is a yearly outreach of Midway Baptist Church.  VBS is usually held during a week in the summer, when the kids are on summer break from school.  The week is a fun filled event which teaches children about God, His Love and what He has done and is doing for everyone, who will be admit, believe and confess.  During the week, there are Bible Lessons, Crafts, Recreation, Snacks/Dinner, Music and time to spend with friends.  The…

This ministry takes seasonal care packages to church and community members that are homebound, sick, and in need of encouragement.

These groups meet at various times throughout the year for Bible study, prayer, ministry and missions opportunities, and fellowship.

Volunteers who love to sing and minister to seniors at our local nursing home can meet at White Oak Nursing Home in Tryon every third Tuesday night. We sing old Gospel hymn favorites, pray, and share a devotion each month.

This team available to help with planning meals, cards, flowers, and financial assistance when church family goes through difficult times.

Our youth ministry is extremely active in Bible study, outings, and mission projects throughout the year. The youth serve with the ministry of our church by being involved in our worship services (youth choir, ushering, prayer time, and testimonies), hosting our annual senior luncheon, assisting with children’s ministries (as needed), and missions. Every year, our youth go to camp and a late summer retreat. Our youth also have a monthly outreach called “Saturday Night Life” where students invite other students…

Our children’s ministry engages children with a fun and Christ-centered environment each week as they learn about Jesus and grow in Him. Midway offers a staffed nursery for babies,  Children’s Church during our morning worship service, and classes on Wednesday night during the worship services. We host a week of Vacation Bible School and/or multiple weeks of Children’s Camp every summer! Our children go on fun outings at various times throughout the year.

For many years, E.E. has impacted lives around the world by equipping believers to share their faith. Our E.E. ministry exists to equip our church to share their faith in daily life. We train willing participants three times a year for 7 weeks each training unit. As we train, we go out and share the Gospel with our community. CR opens doors for men, women and children to come to Jesus for healing physically, mentally, emotionally, and most importantly, spiritually through addressing the hurts, hangups, and habits that keep us from a strong and personal relationship with Jesus and others. Midway Baptist Church is a proud member locally of the Polk Baptist Association of Churches, state-wide of the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina, and nationally of the Southern Baptist Convention. We participate and contribute in the offerings, ministry opportunities, resources, and mission trips each organization offers.

Our church is blessed with a number of gifted singers and musicians who love to worship the Lord in song. The Midway Church praise band plays during most services to further enhance our praise and worship to God. Our choir sings songs that uplift the name of the Lord. They also prepare worship celebrations for Christmas and Easter.
