During these times of uncertainty and fear, we want to invite you to be part of Midway’s Faith-at-Home Movement
- Purpose: For our Church Family to empower, equip, and enable Your Family or Small Group to be God’s Church at Home.
- This is not another program to be added to your already busy schedule. It is a way of life. It is a Faith-at-Home Movement.
- We believe that you as parents, grandparents, single parents, divorced parents, aunts and uncles have been called by God to be the primary spiritual leaders of the children and youth in your homes. You are their primary disciple-makers. You have the privilege of nurturing the faith of your children as you live life together.
(Deuteronomy 6:5-7 says, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your strength. And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down and when you rise up.”)
(Ephesians 6:4 says, “And you fathers do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.”)
- We believe that our Church Family should come alongside families and small groups to serve and equip them by providing Scriptural Discussion Guides and by facilitating interactive discussions of God’s Word.
- How does this work? A Scriptural Discussion Guide will be placed as an insert in the church bulletin each week before the date of the churchwide interactive Bible study. During each week your family or small group will have the opportunity to meet together at home to pray, to worship, and to study God’s Word. And you may share the material from the Scriptural Discussion Guide with your children or small group members during the week when you “sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down and when you rise up.” (Deuteronomy 6:7)
Jesus said in Matthew 18:20, “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”
- On Sunday evenings at 6 p.m. our entire Church Family will meet to pray, to worship the Lord, and to have an interactive discussion of God’s Word based on the Scriptural Discussion guide. Everyone is invited to participate. All age groups will meet at the same place and we will experience God’s Word together.
If you don’t feel comfortable attending the Sunday evening service, please use the weekly Scriptural Discussion Guides to have Church-at-Home with your family or small group.
