God’s people are called to pray at all times (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18) in all seasons. Midway Baptist Church is being challenged to take time each day at 4:27 pm to pray unto the Lord together in response to the Coronavirus Outbreak. We have much to pray for:
Pray for the sick; healthcare workers; the unemployed; our leaders; school students and family; and churches. Pray for the Gospel to flourish. Pray for God’s will to be accomplished through the duration of the outbreak. Pray for good to come from this situation. Pray that the world will turn their eyes to Jesus.
In these difficult times, we must pray. The reason we are praying at 4:27 pm each day is to remember what Jesus said to His disciples in John 14:27: “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
Jesus is and will be our perfect peace during this time. The “1” in the number 14 stands for our church coming together at one time to pray together wherever we are. The 4:27 designates the time for us to pray together.
Go ahead and set reminders on your phones, watches, and calendars so that you can join us in praying each day at 4:27pm!
