Peter McDonald

Peter joined Midway as the Children/Youth/Associate Pastor on September 1, 2011.  He is married to Tara and they have one son(Micah).  They also have a dog, named Twix.  Peter is originally from Roxboro, NC.   In the past, Peter has served as Youth Pastor for 1.5 years at Reed Memorial Baptist Church in Asheville, NC and 2.5 years at Gethsemane Baptist Church in Hendersonville, NC.  He has an A.A.in Religion from Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute, a B.A. in Christian Studies from North Greenville University and is currently working on his Master’s of Art Degree with a Pre-Pastoral Concentration from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary.

Peter’s passion is working with students.  He loves to see young people come to know Jesus Christ as their Savior, grow in their relationship with Him, and show others His love through their own personal testimonies and life.

Peter can be found hanging out with the youth at pretty much any Mexican restaurant or Chic-fil-A.  He enjoys drinking Dr. Pepper or Sweet Tea, watching a good movie like Forrest Gump, listening to Christian Music by Casting Crowns, Third Day, or Chris Tomlin or cheering on his favorite Tar Heel Basketball Team.

Peter’s favorite Bible Verse is Psalms 40:8, “I desire to do your will,  O my God; your law is within my heart.” (NIV)
