Pastor

Rev. Gary Lockee is our Senior Pastor.  Gary came to Midway November 2002. He is married to Evelyn and they have been married for 54 years.  Gary and Evelyn have one daughter and two grandchildren.  Rev. Lockee graduated from Luther Rice Seminary in Jacksonville, Fla.  and he began his ministry in 1963.  Since 1963, he has spent 25 years of his ministry here in Polk County, NC, preaching and teaching the Word of God.

Gary is a true man of God, he preaches directly from the Bible.  His father was a minister and when he was growing up, he said he didn’t want to be a minister, but God had another idea for him.  In his spare time, Rev. Lockee enjoys working in his garden, studying God’s word, and being with his family.

Rev. Lockee is a hard worker and will try just about anything!  He can be found playing ball with our Youth and Young Adults, painting walls of our parsonages, fishing, golfing, or taking a ride a zip-line.  You might even see him show up with purple hair at the Hallelujah Festival, but one thing is for sure, you will always hear God’s word,when you hear him speak.
